Everything about Cosmophony is just mindblowing. The style of the graphics, the soundtrack, the gameplay, it all leaves your head spinning after every play session. It's a merciless assault on the brain, and is definitely not recommended for epileptics. The game is short but incredibly challenging, with only five levels which progressively increase in difficulty. Obviously, the fifth level is just plain brutal. This game is worth its inexpensive price, and even though it can be very frustrating at times, it's good for hours of fun. And once those hours of fun are over, you'll have all five of the game's achievements to brag about.. Cosmophony is a little music/shooter game, and it will test your nerves and reflexes. Beat the tutorial and the first level, but it will become serious from level 2 to the end.You actually play with your keyboard arrows and space to shoot enemies. The goal is the do a 100% for each level, meaning that you have to shoot every enemies and of course, stay alive.I played the level 3 a little and just literally crashed into a wall at very high speed. The sure thing is...I was not prepared. :(. very frustrating game but a great play for a few min game :D. Great fun!The levels are really well crafted, the flow of gameplay goes really nicely with the music. Gameplay in general feels amazing. Of all the rythm games I've played (osu!, ddr, cytus, audiosurf to name a few) this captures the feel of the music the absolute best by a LONG way. Being able to move with the music is spectacular. The last level is a little challenging.Depending on who you are and how many similar games you've played you may find all of it hard, or all of it easy.I felt the music was good, it did what it needed to do, but that's a super subjective topic so your mileage may vary. The models have some room for improvement, I get the devs were going for a minimalist vibe but the "block" asset definitely feels like a "programmer" asset. (Some beveling, normal maps, and shader work would have gone a long way and only takes a little while, many artists would do that for scraps, especially when you have only 1 real 3D asset and it's nearly a cube.)Finally: the story was somewhat lacking. It's an abstract story about the guardian of the universe...kinda works with the music, but the game is very short and it lacks some fundamental elements like suspense, twists, and (for the most part) character interaction. The reason I'm giving them a pass on this is because the game doesn't focus on the story, and it never claims to. It's about the gameplay, which feels amazing.. Fast, easy and not complicated whatsoever!. PCP fueled Drum and Bass rage simulator 2015 10\/I want to die. Not a well made game. This is just basically a dodge game with some shooting as well. You just swivel side to side avoiding obstacles, then shoot other little obstacles. There's only 5 stages, and you can only progress by beating the previous level. What they purposefully did was make the game overly difficult and frustrating so inflate game length. Games take like 2-3 min, and if you get hit once at all you lose and have to restart entire level over again. No checkpoints or anything. This means you just need to constantly replay stages over and over until you finally beat it, then do the EXACT same thing but at an even faster speed at the next level, and this just gets worse and worse at the later levels. Theres music to it, but its far from a "rhythm game", it just some generic beats that play. Game is super repetitive, boring, and frustratingly difficult in a poorly made way. 2.5/10.
